Philosophy....hm... I am tired of things here... the topics have lost interest to me.... so I am creating this one.... I am not sure if it will go well but at least I can try to awaken the sleeping minds of the members here... it feels like a lot of these types of discussions are not poping up as they once did in the past.... it was one of the things I loved the community for when I first came.... now things seem to have fallen out of place (not surprising) but at least I hope to revive the 'feel' of the temple to a different level... just my two cents worth...
The purpose is to discuss any topic about philosophy, science, metaphysics/supernatural, and anything that would make us think.. etc.. ... ... I ask that you use the subject heading more frequently to specify what topic you are discussing (as there could be multiple going on....) ... please feel free to share any of your opinions, as this is what the topic is about (though be mature about it)..... (ask questions as well, I might be able to respond to a few)
First, I will start with these websites:
www.spockjr.com/rants/index.html
this one has some good points... it is a very useful read in my opinion, and I agree with what is there... www.crystalinks.com
...discusses psychic phenomena (our beloved purple kitty.... X3 ) and other things.. if you are interested in the paranormal or self-development it has some nice things in there.... this is mostly to give you a general idea of what is out there.... You can find different terms in there or other phenomena and look them up in google to get another author's opinion.... anytime you read something in the area of metaphysics, one should do so by thinking it is a 'possibility' and not always a fact... it can be a vague field so it is best to read from different authors and with personal discernment.... ..... 'follow your heart'...
*inhails*
Finall, I ask you to not be shy about your opinions/questions...

Re: Philosophy....
What a great idea Spy! I'm very interested in those kinds of things, and thanks for the links you gave there. I have a question for you.
I've read several books on auras and each one seems to say the colours of an aura mean something slightly different like one says the colour black is for dead people, but another said the colour black means a person in deep depression, illness, suicidal tendencies or is 'spiritually dead'. What, in your opinion, do the colours mean to you, if anything at all?
Re: Philosophy....
a bit on your Aura discussion, Emsie: I've heard that there are 'bumps' or 'dents' in peoples' auras that are supposed to denote mental trauma, or how strong the aura is. i dun know much about the color of the aura, but this is as much as i can give right now.

Both are right really... black is the lack of colour or light... If you are dead you do not have an aura.... if you have 'negative' vibes, it will affect the colours of the aura.. possibly to complete darkness.... though, I think the other book ment traces of black (not sure)..... Usually your auric colors start to loose its brightness and pull closer to your body... consider black as a 'void'....
White is also an indication of serious disease, drug abuse, or death... other cases purity
Re: Auras...
Thank you, Spy, for bringing this topic back to the Temple. I've been trying to study it for a while, but i haven't had much luck. If you would be so kind, could you please tell how to see a person's aura? Thanks in advance ^_^

Re: Auras...
Thank you very much Spy, that was helpful.
(Though again another book said hints of white was supposed to present an 'angelic' side, soemtimes seen in young children, maybe it was wrong.)
Thanks for those links by the way I'll have a look at those! ^^

'How' to see.... this is difficult to accomplish and can only be obtained through self-dicipline..... hm... at the moment all I can do is provide links....

Ah lookey what we got here. I see you got yourself your own thread started, Spy . Seeing a philosophy/spirituality thread on here isn't something I've normally seen, so maybe this will be an interesting choice for a handful here to spare some thoughts or such.
As for me, I wouldn't know what to talk 'bout, I got too many ideas that I'd rather spare your minds of boredom .
Have fun!

OMG!!! I tried to feel my own energy wave and...I DID!! It was like my hands were magnets! And then, they started to repel eachother! It was so amazing!!

universe...I came back from a nightly stroll wednesday and intended to mention something about this...... .... treat this 'article' as a theory, though I have my reasons to feel it is very close to what is actually there....
There is an Infinity out there that extends on both ends.....
Think of the atom
The earth and Moon
The Solar System....
Galaxies
what do these have in common.....
it is a common design/pattern....... spheres/orbes/forms rotating around a central Core.......
think of our universe as a sphere... a bead if you will, on a necklace..... there are other beads 'above and below' ours..... each of the beads on this necklace rotates around a central core...... .... think of that system and put it in yet another sphere... repeating itself.... it goes on for eternity....
there is an energy world that is the eternal equivalent of the atom..... (there does exist something smaller than atom but not necessarily matter) (think about quarks... www.crystalinks.com/quarks.html )
Essentially, life is energy....

EDIT:: added comment about this article being theoretical

Re: universe...
As religion and Physics attempt to explain what we don't know, neither completely explains how the universe works. Religion is founded in unscientific ideas, and Physics is based upon observations and experimentation. The bottom of life has yet to be found, and has extreme high reaching consequences. I usually don't try to argue over something that cannot be explained or proven scientifically.
I want a bracelet...
Regarding quarks (and physics in general), very little is proven (or provable). The whole science of physics consists of a bunch of models that seem accurate so far. There's no reason to think that our models would work everywhere in the universe or that they will continue to work here. There's evidence that quarks exist, but they've never been observed singly, and theories to explain that are still being developed. One is the "String Theory," suggested by some physicists (but nothing's proven, of course) which could better explain the attractions between quarks and the components of them. In terms of size, according to String Theory, if an atom were blown up to the size of the solar system, a string would be the size of a tree. Strings are theoretically made up of matter AND energy, so that the two are indistinguishable. At any rate, the physics most people are concerned with only accounts for (or tries to account for) the phenomena observed on our infinitesimal piece of the universe--not that that's irrational, but there's no reason to presume that we know anything, or can know anything, about what constitutes matter as we know it.

Re: Philosophy....
Sorry if I've gone off by miles here but, if life is essentially energy, does that mean that death is merely another form of energy. Meaning that when you die you don't really die you merely change form or energy, beginning a new form of existence. But...energy can on some points end or merely phase out infact it can change altogether, take a star for example (lol Im probably going to look like an idiot), it begins, it brings life to the system, it then grows old and begins to fade. The end it expands ending life and then finally its own, sometimes it collapes in on its self. Changing into a blackhole, the complete opposite of to what a star is, it sucks in all energy be it light or solid, and never ends. So what form of energy is that?
Sorry again if this is completely off topic and made myself look like a fool.

Re: Philosophy....
I thought that, Life was strength, you live you effect your world, that sort of thing... sadly It seems that I have royally messed up the effect I seemed to have on my life, world, whatever. As for having energy, I seem to have none.... I feel so drained as for late... life just seems so boring... I have nothing to show for my life anyway... nothing for the things I do now as I write this post and nothing from my past... I made the choses that Have put me where I'm at now... and with nothing to show or anything to give... my life is hit a complete dead end... everything seems boring, overly done, overly used.
I sorry for ranting life a fool who has nothing left to lose... today has just been an awful start for me, and I feel it is not going to get any better at the day's end, that I don't.

Re: Philosophy....Orgun:
It is my opinion that matter is solidified energy.. in a sense.... or rather energy slowed down to a point.... thus becomming dense...
though as bastet said, there is not really a for sure way to know (scientifically) at the moment... though with what personal experience I have, it seems everything is of energy....
