Rules
These rules are put in place to ensure a more wholesome role-play. If you breech them you will be banned especially if you breech the more important rules those are the ones with a * next to them.

1) *Mary Sue Litmus characters
Most important no Mary Sue Litmus characters. If you make your character to perfect you will be asked to re write your characters biography until we are satisfied.

If you make your character to perfect, e.g. She’s beautiful talented in almost every aspect of magic, has the perfect life style, etc. you will be asked to re write your characters biography until we are satisfied.

No one is perfect in every way, there will be a fault somewhere, even if there beautiful and kind, they may not be intelligent or good at anything except being let say blond.

Think about it, consider the most perfect person you know, and you could probably pick out 5-8 faults about them. Consider that thought.

2) *Gods/Power playing
No power playing, if you try to say what another character dose or says, either a note will be put in to your post or it will be deleted without question, depending how bad the power playing is and who your posting with. The same goes for God Moding

This is a serious part of role-playing. Were you have the right to do what you wish to your character you have no right to control any other character in any other way whatsoever. You can’t even change the expression of there face.

You character may make an assumption but you may not. The admin will not even control a character; we take it that seriously.

Power playing is just as bad, you can not say your character did something to someone unless it's agreed, before hand. Unless you are a professor the extent to your powers can not be more powerful than anyone who is in a higher year than you, and those in the same year will be equal in knowledge and such to your character unless stated in there app and approved by us first

3) *Stay True to your character
Take this in to consideration whilst creating your character.

When role playing you must stay true to the original app for your character Book or original, you can’t change your mind halfway through the RP.
If every body did that things would get out of hand and people would be sprouting wings left right and centre.

4) Character relations
No relations to the great HP or his friends unless you’re playing a book character or we say otherwise

By this we mean family relations, if you want your character to know another book character then it must be discussed with the person whom is playing that character and worked out in the history between yourselves.

We can’t allow family relations because everyone would end up being the long lost sister/brother of Harry and it would just get boring.

The ONLY exception to this is if a player gets in contact with an admin and myself, discusses it with ALL effected characters and EVERYONE agrees that the character would
a) Not effect to much about the other characters &
B) Proved to make the RP a more interesting place.

Unless al these requirements the response will be a flat NO

5) Animagie, Parseltoung
Things like Animagie must be discussed with an admin or myself. In other words your character isn’t special unless we say so.

An Animagie is a rare occurrence as the books say there is only a few known to the wizarding world, and we don’t want a load of secret Anamagie running round it’s just not happening.
This also includes any rare items, and all unusual talents.

However We DO allow secret Animagie, but their not entirely secret.

6) Posting IC
Posting, when your role-playing pleas give a detailed post, it’s not hard to write two – three small paragraphs. If your not sure what to put think how your character would be feeling or doing, and try to give it a bit of detail. Posts with a bit of detail are always nicer to reply to and therefor are likely to receive a reply.

A detailed post is not hard, include things like thought explanations to reactions, anything that makes it interesting. 8 sentence replies are not hard. Some admins will be kind and let them pass by I will not, if I see short posts I will complain.

Another note on posting some sites like people to use these :: Text :: and these *text* to demonstrate movement and bold or italics for speech. I don’t! when writing it should be as though you are writing a story. Use quotation marks when speaking and description when moving.

The posts should also be in 3rd person and past tense
i.e. Lucy opened the door timidly and peered round the corner.
NOT: I open the door and peer round the corner timidly
Got it? Good

7) OOC Forums
Keep all the out of character stuff where it belongs in the OOC forums.

You may leave side notes in an in character post but if you start having an OOC discussion within a role-play forum your showing pure ignorance and it won’t be tolerated.

8) Signatures
Pictures and signatures. I find it depressing when a signature is twice as large as a post. Less is more, please cut them down, or I just won’t allow signatures or pictures to show up on the site.

Signatures should be reasonable, if they’re bigger than your posts either you’re not to good at Role-playing or you need to cut it down drastically.
Less is more.

9) Respecting Admins
Respect the admins they respect you

It’s simple really.
If you don’t show the admins respect i.e. listening to them and discussing problems, rather than blatantly ignoring us, we have the right to ban you and the power.

In most cases the admin is usually right, and patronising them will only make life more difficult.

10) Enjoy Youself!
This sites soul purpose is for entertainment, if we don't succeed in entertaining you we've done a poor job.
